CEO, California Cannabis; Co-Founder, California Minority Alliance and Southern California Coalition
Virgil Grant is the founder of California Cannabis and co-founder of the California Minority Alliance and Southern California Coalition. Starting out as a hustler in the streets of Compton, Virgil opened up his first cannabis shop in 2002 in the city of Compton after the passage of Prop 215. Even though all his shops were licensed, with conflicting federal and state laws, Virgil was raided by federal agents three times and was sent to federal prison for six years. Upon his release in 2014, Virgil became an activist for social equity and continues to fight for fair marijuana policies for the city of Los Angeles.
